I went to APPA 2019 and all I got was this sweet ass T-Shirt, Drink Bottle, Volunteer Lanyard, 3 Silvers, a Silver Distinction, new friends, memories that will last a lifetime and a GOLDEN DONG😜
This year was the first time all four of my images received awards and I was able to earn the 2 points I needed to receive my Associate of the AIPP (AKA the Golden Dong). 
The unexpected highlight of the trip would have to be volunteering behind the scenes. The work that goes into putting on the event was an eye opener to say the least. I was welcomed with open arms and spent 2 days turning prints and generally have a blast. Sorry to the Events team Sue, Katrina and Keren but you've got yourself a permanent volunteer for APPA, you wont be able to get rid of me😀. 
I was so proud to be part of the WA Crew that went over to Sydney and even more so by how many of us there were.
Shaireen, Kelly, Karen, Lily, Dijana, Aya, Sarah, Mel, Janet Chris, Ty and those 2 crazy first year students with the $40 suit, Thank you for making my first time attending APPA so bloody amazing.
To my new eastern states friends Mieke, Steve, Jannick, Paul, Emily, David be it meeting for the first time, finally meeting in person or simply catching up, thank you for welcoming me and I look forward to the next time.

I'll leave you with a little something my Dad said to me yesterday, "Surround yourself with people that bring out the best in you" That is exactly what being part of the AIPP does for me.😁
